Capacity specifications assume 5 second response times per question which assumes a massive set of [Q]Bases fully populated. Typical usage will greatly exceed these figures. These figures are given for capacity planning to assure ample capacity as needs grow.
Storage Capacity specification assumes a total of 100GB of storage available to store questions in a single Knowledge Cluster. Answers and speech files are assumed to have an average of 1MB per answer. This capacity will vary depending on the length of the answers and the types of speech files used. Speech files require large amounts of storage, so turning off the speech option increases the total storage capacity to about 1,000,000 questions per Knowledge Cluster. Additional servers access data from the first unit and as such do not add additional storage for answers. The total capacity can be increased as needed to the maximum limits of SAN technology.

If the information you will store in your [Q]Base contains highly sensitive information, then you may prefer to use the optional SSL (Secure Socket Layer) Transaction service. For an additional one cent per question, this added level of security is the ideal way to keep your transactions secure. We only offer this option to customers who select pricing plan D or higher. The SSL option is not available during the low-cost three month trial period. This added layer of security helps to assure that the information flowing to and from your [Q]Base can not be intercepted and read by unauthorized parties.
